William Junior Dougan
With guts, talent and a hat full of dreams , William Junior Dougan is following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He is an all-around cowboy pushing his limits at both European and international rodeo arenas. The first Belgian ever in Barretos, he made history in the bullriding world, but his inside Gipsy Horses Ranch role extends beyond that. Today, he is also a trainer, leader and ambassador for the ranch.
The new generation of cowboys
‘Stay Wild and Western,’ is the motto of the son of William Henry and grandson of William John Dougan.
As a rodeo cowboy, he has been participating in bull riding competitions all over Europe for more than a decade and has been allowed several times the title of European champion bull riding be allowed to wear the title. In 2025, he rode his most successful season in the history of European bull riding.
Even outside Europe, he has had successes by riding in America, Australia and Brazil, among others. He was the first and still the only Belgian ever allowed to participate in the largest rodeo in the world, the Festa do Peão de Barretos in Brazil.
William Junior is more than his father’s son and grandson of “Daddy,” for he is a living continuation and extension of the Dougan tradition.
Today he is known as an all around cowboy and trainer of the rodeo and bull riding school at the ranch. With a clear vision and deep commitment to family values, he co-leads the Gipsy Horses Ranch.
