Horseback riding on our ranch

Everyone is welcome at our ranch in Westerlo!

Whether you are getting into the saddle for the first time or have years of experience, we offer lessons and outdoor rides for every level. This allows everyone to enjoy horseback riding in a safe, fun and appropriate way.

How to participate.

Everyone is welcome in our classes, even without a reservation. Come to the tack room in the indoor arena fifteen minutes before class starts where our instructor will assist you.

Class offerings

Basic lesson

Teaching the skills of horseback riding at everyone’s level.

The ideal class to get in and learn about the ranch.

Outdoor ride

Are you over 12 and have mastered the three courses?
Then you can go enjoy a ride in the woods around the ranch under the supervision of an experienced guide.

Roping basics / Groundwork without a horse

Always dreamed of welding? Learn the tricks of the trade here!

Gymcana

Agility on the horse/pony (obstacles, games where you will master the necessary technique)

Barrel Race

American speedevent around 3 oil barrels (barrels), fun for anyone who already has driving experience. Speed and lots of technique is the message!

Pole Bending

American speedevent between 6 poles. Fun to do if you can already drive!

Team Penning

Riding among our cows, trying to separate the cattle, …
This is also a lesson for those who can already ride horses.

Hotheel Roping

Practicing your roping skills from your horse to a mechanical cow.

Here it is important to be able to roped without a horse, as well as to be able to ride a horse.

Trickriding

Learning stunts on horseback. For those who have already mastered the 3 gaits.

Kindergarten class

Pony habituation for school-age preschoolers.

Rodeo

Bull and bronc riding, can be by appointment only.

Rider levels

Beginning rider
Are you still a little unsure or have no riding experience?

Then you are welcome in the beginner’s group. We start slowly, get you familiar with the horse and focus on basic skills.

Everything is done at your pace and with the necessary guidance.

Medium rider
If you have already mastered the three gaits, but steering is not always easy. If you do not yet feel comfortable on every horse and prefer to ride in a small arena, then this level suits you. In these lessons we work step by step on your balance, control and confidence.

Advanced rider
Are you able to ride figures in the three gaits, on any horse and in any arena? Then follow our advanced level. Here the focus is on refinement, technique and versatile exercises.
